Waltons Music for Schools Competition 2013 Finalists Announced!

We’ve just announced our finalists on RTE lyric fm! In case any of you missed the moment, the following 12 schools have made the finals of the competition and will be competing at the National Concert Hall on Monday, April 8th, to win first, second and third prize Waltons Music vouchers for €3000, €1500 and €500 worth of musical instruments and equipment:  

Our six Primary school finalists – in alphabetical order – are:

Barefield National School, Ennis, Co. Clare

Gaelscoil an tSlí Dála, Borris-in-Ossory, Co Laois

John Scottus Primary School, Donnybrook, Dublin

Kilbrittain National School, Co Cork

Knockanean National School, Ennis Co. Clare

St. Patrick’s Boys National School, Portarlington, Co. Laois

Our six post-primary school finalists – in alphabetical order – are:

Coláiste Raithín, Bray, Co Wicklow

Crescent College Comprehensive School, Limerick

Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblaney, Co Monaghan

Pobalscoil Iosolde, Palmerstown, Co. Dublin

Presentation College Headford, Co Galway

St Vincent’s College, Castleknock, Co Dublin

We will be posting profiles of the finalist schools early next week, as well as their entries, on the Waltons, lyric fm and National Concert Hall websites, so do have a look, listen and enjoy. Remember that the Waltons Music for Schools competition is an annual one, so if your school wasn’t a finalist this year, start thinking of your entry for 2014!
